About Retro Diva

Retro Diva was born out of a rebellion against 'fast' fashion and mass production. It is all about embracing unique style and individuality.

 Inspired by vintage fashion of the 1930's '40's and '50's, old Hollywood movie stars, and the occasional hint of Goth.

Using beautiful fabrics and original patterns we aspire to produce a range of Diva Dresses, Day Wear and Lingerie for those of you who are the legends  striving  for originality everyday.

To introduce myself, my name is Sue Brookes, I am the designer/creative behind the label Retro Diva. 

I dreamed of being a Designer from childhood. To help me turn my ambition to reality I studied for and achieved a B.A. (Hons) degree in Fashion design.

After graduating I spent 25 years working for various brands including Belstaff and Rohan. My first job was designing lingerie and I still love it. 

I have always wanted my own label and the freedom to follow my passion.

So Retro Diva was born.

This is the fabulous Mina von Vixen 'the girl with the Blue hair'

Mina describes herself as;  a performer, model, explorer and vintage glamour enthusiast. She has never been enthralled with modern mainstream fashion and finds it much more fun to create her own style.

She first caught my eye on social media and I realised she would be the perfect 'face' for the brand, she has a natural style and elegance which works really well with the Retro Diva 'look'

We enjoy collaborating on photo shoots in amazing locations and working with some very talented photographers.

Since our first meeting in a coffee shop we continue to inspire each other.
